about me

Hi, I'm Juni. I play and tutor various instruments in a custom built dodecagon-shaped music studio in O'Connor. My interests include gardening, tinkering, and queer pop music, and I love to photograph local gigs. I have a dog who I like a lot and I play drums in a band called Corduroy Company. I've been tutoring music since 2017, and my students' ages have ranged from four to fifty-something.

My favourite musical genres include pop, indie, rock, jazz, and ambient, and the music I like most tends to be creative or funny or weird or political but still catchy and well-produced. Some albums that I love are UTOPIA NOW! by Rosie Tucker, Asphalt Meadows by Death Cab for Cutie, and Home Video by Lucy Dacus, and my favourite Canberra bands are Dog Name and Love Maps.

My pronouns are she/her.

about Music Tutoring Canberra

Music Tutoring Canberra is the independent private tutoring service I provide, which you can sign up to here.

My role as a music tutor is to provide any encouragement, information and practical support that a student may require to develop and explore their own enjoyment of music, whether as a hobby or a serious creative practice. This approach requires some intrinsic motivation, so I do recommend against soliciting lessons on behalf of someone who is not interested in learning an instrument.

Instruments Available:
- Piano / Keyboard
- Drum Kit
- Electric and Acoustic Guitar
- Electric Bass
- Ukulele
- DAW / Songwriting

If you don't have your own instrument, you can still come and try any of these.
